THE WHITE VALLEY

El Valle del Jerte es un valle con más de un millón y medio de cerezos. Sus colinas se tiñen de blanco al llenarse de flores blancas una sola vez al año. Este evento dura sólo unos días y es un gran regalo que nos ofrece la naturaleza. Los cerezos suelen florecer entre el 20 de marzo y el 10 de abril, y dicha floración dura unos 10 días como mucho.

Este valle está situado entre la Sierra de Gredos y la ciudad de Plasencia. Tras él se encuentra el Calvitero, que es el pico más alto de Extremadura. Se encuentra localizado a 426 km de Córdoba.

Me gustaría visitar este lugar porque me llaman mucho la atención todo lo relacionado con la naturaleza y ya que mi cumpleaños es en abril seria un bonito regalo.

TRANSLATION..

The Valle del Jerte has more than a million and a half of cherries. They use to flower from 20 March to 10 April and the flowered endures 10 days.  Its hills appear full of white flowers only once a year and they seem to be painted of white. I think that it's a beautiful present that the nature gives us.
This valley is situated between the Sierra de Gredos and Plasencia, behind the highest mountain of Extremadura, the Calvitero. It's situated 426 km from Córdoba.
I'm looking forward to visit this place because I'm really interested in nature. Also in April is my birthday, so that will be a great present.

 

 

 

 

PINSAPO'S TREE

El pinsapo es un tipo de abeto que está situado en el Sur de España, especialmente en las regiones mediterráneas de las sierras de Málaga y Cádiz. Puede alcanzar los 30 metros de altura y tiene gruesas hojas de color oscuro.

Las principales poblaciones aparecen en varios puntos de las Sierras de Málaga y Cádiz, en el extremo occidental de la cordillera Bética. La mayor parte de los pinsapares andaluces se encuentran en áreas protegidas: Parque Natural de la Sierra de las Nieves y Paraje Natural de los Reales de Sierra Bermeja, en la provincia de Málaga, y Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema en la provincia de Cádiz.

Para ir de excursión hay un sendero comienza en el lugar conocido como Las Canteras, a un par de km de Grazalema, conforme vamos ganando altura vemos algunos pinsapos que anuncian la proximidad del bosque, y una vez allí, tendremos la  posibilidad de adentrarse en el pinsapar, donde llamará nuestra atención la escasa luz que penetra en el bosque.

The pinsapo is a type of fir which is situated in the South of Spain, specially in the mediterranean regions, such us the Sierras of Málaga and Cádiz.  It can reach a maximun height of 30 metres and it has got thick dark green leaves.

 

The main populations are found in various points of the Sierras de Málaga and Cádiz, at the western end of the Betic Cordillera. Most pinsapares Andalusians are in protected areas: Parque Natural de la Sierra de las Nieves ,Natural Park of Los Reales de Sierra Bermeja in the province of Malaga and Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park in the province of Cádiz.

 

For hiking there is a path begins at the place known as Las Canteras, a couple of miles from Grazalema, as we gain altitude we see some pinsapos announcing the proximity of the forest, and once there, we will have the opportunity to enter the pinsapar, which called our attention little light penetrates the forest.

We are going to talk about the three best nature places situated in Andalucia.

El peñón de Zaframagón

Es una formación rocosa de roca caliza situada en la Reserva natural del peñón de Zaframagón, en el límite de estas dos provincias andaluzas: Sevilla y Cádiz. La Garganta del Estrechón, que está profundizada por el río Guadalporcún, es uno de los elementos más significativos del Peñón.

 

 

The Peñón de Zaframagón is a rock formation situated in the Natural Reserve of El Peñón de Zaframagón, on the border of Seville  and Cadiz. La Garganta del Estrechón, deepened by the river Guadalporcún, is one of the most significant elements of it.

 

La garganta verde

La Garganta Verde es un cañón que ha sido excavado por el Arroyo del Pinar. Está situada en el Parque de la Sierra de Grazalema, Cádiz. Se llama así por la frondosa vegetación que recubre sus paredes. En la profundidad de la garganta puede percibirse la Cueva de la Ermita.

 The Garganta Verde is a canyon that has been carved by the Arroyo del Pinar. It is situated in the Park of the Sierra de Grazalema, Cádiz. The reason why it is called in that way is because of the lush vegetation that covers its walls. Deep in the throat you can see the Cave of the Hermitage.

A magical story

VINDICTIVE

El poema habla en diferentes tiempos, tanto del presente como del futuro, pero no sobre el pasado. El narrador será el mago Merlín, que habla sobre el futuro del Rey Arturo y de el.


El título eros-ionado tiene un significado importante, y es que relaciona el paso de tiempo que nos erosiona, nos envejece, y termina con la muerte.


Ávalon es una de las legendarias  Islas Británicas, donde, según la leyenda, viven nueve reinas hadas; entre ellas, Morgana, que es medio-hermana de Arturo y una bruja muy poderosa; y donde los manzanos dan frutas jugosas todos los días de el año.

El Santo Grial es la copa de la que bebió Jesús durante la Ultima Cena, la cual se dice que tenía poderes mágicos curativos y regenerativos y se manifestaban dichos poderes si bebías de ella. La leyenda se centra en la búsqueda de esta copa, donde Merlín encomienda a Arturo la tarea de buscarla, y el rey manda a sus caballeros para que la encuentren.

Mordred es el hijo ilegitimo de Morgause y el Rey Arturo . El rey lo deja a cargo del trono cuando va a luchar contra el emperador de Roma. Durante su ausencia, Mordred se corona a sí mismo y se casa con Ginebra, que es la esposa de Arturo, esto obliga al rey a regresar. Ambos se enfrentan combatiendo en la batalla de Camlann, y Mordred muere, mientras que Arturo queda muy herido y es llevado a Ávalon junto a su hermana Morgana.

 

 

 

 

TRANSLATION

The poem talks about diferents times, present and future, but not past. The narrator will be the wizard Merlín, who talks about the King Arturo and his future.

The tittle eros-ionado has an important meaning, it relates the passage of times and ends with the death.

Avalon is one of the legendary British Islands, where, acording to legend, live nine Kings pixies, between them, Morgana, who is half-sister of Arturo and a powerful witch. Also in that island there are Apple-tres which give they tasty fruits everyday in the year.

The Holy Grail is the cup from which Jesus drank at the Last Dinner, which is said to have healing and regenerative magical powers and those powers manifested when drinking it. Legend focuses on the search for the cup, where Merlin Arthur entrusts the task of search and the king sends his knights to find it.

Mordred is the illegitimate son of Morgause and King Arthur. The king leaves it up to the throne when will fight against the emperor of Rome. CHESS BOXING

El chess boxing o ajedrez de boxeo se trata de un deporte poco conocido porque alterna el ajedrez y el boxeo. Fue imaginado por primera vez en 1992 por un dibujante de cómics llamado Enki Bilal y fue llevado a la práctica durante la primavera de 2003.
Existe un encuentro entre 2 oponentes con 11 rounds en total, con una pausa de un minuto entre cada round, en ella los competidores se cambian de vestimenta. En los 11 rounds se van combinando el ajedrez y el boxeo, donde empieza primero con 4 minutos de ajedrez y seguido por 3 minutos de boxeo. En el ámbito del deporte  DRAW significa empate.
La especialidad del ajedrez es el ajedrez rápido y se llama blitz .

Pienso que INTEGRATING PROJECT se ha sustituido por INTEGRATING MATTERS debido a que MATTERS es una palabra polisémica, es decir que tiene varios significados:

-Utiliza ese término porque es una ASIGNATURA que engloba distintos temas o materias, ya que se trata de una multiasignatura.
- También funciona como verbo y significa IMPORTAR. Tiene sentido que haya utilizado este término para nombrar esta asignatura ya que es muy importante.

I think that INTEGRATING PROJECT have been replaced for INTEGRATING MATTERS because MATTERS is a word with some meanings:

 

-It use this word because is a SUBJECT that envolves diferents themes.

-It is a verb, MEAN, and maybe this is the tittle because it's very important.

El río Okavango

El río Okavango es un largo río africano, que nace en Angola, en una zona bastante lluviosa, y que después de un largo recorrido penetra en una cuenca, ya en Botsuana, donde ha formado una extensa región aluvional impropiamente denominada y conocida en todo el mundo como el delta del Okavango. Como desemboca en una zona con un clima muy árido, se trata de un río alóctono, es decir, que proviene de fuera del espacio geográfico del que se habla.

Otra de sus características es que su recorrido no es recto como el de la mayoría de los ríos, sino que está lleno de curvas.

La mejor época para visitar el delta depende de lo que se quiera observar. Si lo que se busca son animales grandes, el mejor periodo es entre mayo y octubre, cuando las aguas bajan y aquellos se concentran alrededor del agua. Si lo que se quiere ver son aves y una vegetación exuberante, la mejor época es entre noviembre y abril, la época de las lluvias.

 

Translation

The Okavango River is an African river which originates in Angola, in a place where rains a lot, and after a long route enters a basin. There it forms an extensive alluvial región called Okavango's delta.

It leads in an área with an arid climate and because of that it is an allochthonous river, coming from outside the geographical area that is spoken.

Another characteristic is that its route isn't straight like most rivers, it is full of curves.

The best time to visit the delta depends on what we want to see. If you are looking for large animals, the best period is between May and October when the wáter goes down.
If you want to see are birds and lush vegetation, the best time is between November and April, the rainy season.
